JUST-IN: Suspected Armed Robbers Kill Cleric in Gombe
Tragedy struck Lubo community in Yamaltu-Deba local government area of Gombe State on Monday morning as a Christian clergyman, Reverend Bala Galadima, was murdered by suspected armed robbers.
Reverend Galadima, the presiding pastor at the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) worship center in Lubo, was reportedly killed in the early hours of Monday at his residence.
Reacting to the tragic event, Governor Inuwa Yahaya condemned the heartless murder of the clergyman and directed security agencies to track down the perpetrators.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, the governor expressed deep sorrow over the incident, describing it as an assault on the peace and security Gombe State has long enjoyed.
“Governor Inuwa Yahaya strongly condemned the reprehensible act, describing it as an assault on the peace and security that Gombe State has long enjoyed,” the statement read. “The governor stressed that such incidents must not be allowed to undermine the peaceful coexistence in the state.”
Governor Yahaya extended his condolences to the grieving family, the ECWA Church, and the entire Christian community, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
