Church Offering Didn’t Buy Our Aircraft, God Did — Oyedepo

Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, has responded to claims that his church’s aircraft were purchased with funds from church offerings. In a recent sermon that has gained traction online, Oyedepo explained how the church’s aircraft came into their possession, stating that the purchase was a divine provision from God, not from any planned or pressured church donations.

According to Oyedepo, God miraculously provided the aircraft without any prior prayer or expectation from the church. He emphasized that there was no financial strain or pressure on church members to fund the purchase. “The offering didn’t buy it oo! God bought it. No! God said it, and I believe it and that settles it,” he declared.

The Bishop clarified that acquiring the aircraft was never a personal ambition but rather a part of God’s plan for the church’s mission to spread the Gospel across Africa. He shared that if it had been up to him to decide, he would not have initially been ready to buy an aircraft. “If God asked me, ‘David, when do you want that aircraft to be bought?’ I would have said, ‘God take it easy, take it easy, we are not near ready. Aircraft?'” Oyedepo recounted, adding that God’s timing was far beyond his own plans or understanding.

He further explained that the aircraft was intended to serve a larger purpose, allowing the church to reach out across the continent. “We travel the whole of Africa with the aircraft,” he noted.

The church’s fleet of aircraft has often been a subject of discussion, and Oyedepo’s clarification seeks to address the controversy surrounding its funding, reaffirming that the provision came directly from God’s will rather than through congregational offerings.
