Visa Denial: Stanley Uzochukwu Urges Nigerians to Stand in Support of CDS
Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu, Chairman of Stanel Group and founder of the Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation, has called for unity among Nigerians in supporting the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of Nigeria, General Christopher Musa, and the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Dr. Uzochukwu made this call in a statement he signed on Saturday, titled “Standing Strong with General Christopher Musa: A Beacon of Courage in Nigeria’s Fight Against Terrorism.”
Earlier, General Musa shared at the inaugural annual lecture of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) in Abuja that he and half of his team had been denied visas by the Canadian Embassy.
Reacting to the situation, the Nigerian entrepreneur stated, “In times of adversity, true leadership emerges—not in the quantity of words, but in the depth of courage. General Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s CDS, represents this principle. His recent call for national unity and resilience, delivered at AANISS in Abuja, echoes deeply in a country tired of conflict but holding on to hope.
“Nigeria must stand firm,” he urged—an appeal that is more than words and requires decisive action.
“General Musa’s steadfastness was further demonstrated during his courageous interview with Al Jazeera, where he boldly addressed a global audience, revealing an inconvenient truth: terrorism thrives on financial support. For over 15 years, Boko Haram’s terror has endured, not only fueled by ideology but also by hidden financial networks.
“If we sever these funding sources, the war ends,” he asserted, urging the United Nations to investigate these financial routes. His words were not just an appeal, but a challenge to the global community, demanding accountability long needed.
“Evidence quickly followed. U.S. Congressman Scott Perry’s revelation that USAID funds, meant for humanitarian aid, were diverted to terrorist groups underscores the seriousness of General Musa’s statements. This discovery validates his claims and calls for action. It also reinforces that Nigeria’s struggles are not isolated, but are intertwined with global complicity.
“General Musa’s readiness to speak truth to power, despite potential diplomatic repercussions, establishes him as a patriot of the highest caliber. In a world where silence is often safer, his voice stands strong, driven by a leader who places the nation above all else.
“To all Nigerians: this is our collective battle. Let us rally together in support through prayer, advocacy, and unwavering faith in those who protect our borders. Let us show solidarity with General Musa and our nation’s armed forces, whose sacrifices safeguard our future.
“Our strength as a nation lies not in the absence of fear, but in the courage to face it head-on. May God bless our armed forces, General Musa, and the resilient spirit of Nigeria. Together, we will overcome,” the international businessman concluded.
