IPAC Hails Ex-Senate President Anyim’s Service To Nigeria At 64

The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has commended former Senate President and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, on his 64th birthday, recognizing his outstanding service to Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, the National Chairman of IPAC, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, praised Anyim as a model of patriotism, integrity, and statesmanship. He described Anyim as a distinguished administrator and lawyer, who has dedicated his life to the betterment of the nation.

“IPAC is proud to identify with this detribalized Nigerian, an individual of remarkable intellectual and political wisdom who has delivered several keynote addresses at our conferences. These contributions have significantly advanced the cause of democracy in Nigeria,” Dantalle stated.

He further highlighted the achievements of the 4th Senate, much of which was under Anyim’s leadership, including the passage of several landmark bills such as the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Establishment Act, Onshore/Offshore Dichotomy Act, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Matters Commission (ICPC) Establishment Act, and the Police Service Commission Establishment Act, among others.

Dantalle emphasized that the establishment of these critical agencies during Anyim’s tenure reflects his visionary and progressive leadership, and is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the development of the country.

“IPAC celebrates Anyim’s invaluable contributions to fostering sustainable democracy and development in Nigeria. We urge all Nigerians to rededicate themselves to building a stronger, more united, and prosperous democratic nation,” the statement concluded.
