AAPU President Visits Baba-Ahmed Varsity, Urges Collaboration To Enhance Research
Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, the President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU), recently visited Baba-Ahmed University (BAUK) in Kano to discuss the development and advancement of private universities in Africa.
Leading a delegation from Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Prof. Gwarzo was accompanied by MAAUN President, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, and senior university officials. They were warmly welcomed at BAUK’s open theatre by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Tanko Idris, along with staff and students of the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed deep gratitude for Prof. Gwarzo’s significant contributions to education across Nigeria and the African continent. Prof. Idris further emphasized that Prof. Gwarzo’s visit marked a pivotal moment in fostering collaboration and promoting academic excellence.
In response, Prof. Gwarzo praised the Vice-Chancellor for his dedication to both academic quality and institutional growth. He advocated for stronger collaboration among universities to enhance research and innovation, highlighting the importance of inter-university partnerships to advance higher education.
Prof. Gwarzo also commended the university’s management and its founder, Datti Baba-Ahmed, for their commitment to delivering quality education. He encouraged the university’s staff to continue supporting the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership, expressing confidence in his vision to propel the university to greater achievements.
During the visit, two students from Baba-Ahmed University honored Prof. Gwarzo with an award of excellence, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the field of education.
The delegation also included Dr. Abba Jidda and Dr. Musa Lawal Jibia, among others.
