Kwara Court Remands Son, Parents, 4 Others For Alleged Murder Of College Student
A Kwara State High Court in Ilorin has remanded seven suspects in a correctional facility for their alleged involvement in the murder of Mojisola Awesu, a student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa.
The suspects include Adebayo Joshua Happiness, Timileyin Kolawole, and members of Happiness’s family, including his parents, Adebayo Adeniyi and Bukola Adeniyi. Justice Ibrahim Yusuf ordered the remand after the absence of counsels representing the 5th, 6th, and 7th defendants, which led to the decision to remand all the suspects.
Happiness and Kolawole are accused of conspiring to kill Awesu on August 9, 2024, while the other defendants face charges related to the disappearance and destruction of evidence. Adeoye Adeola, Lawal Aminat, and Peter Bulus are accused of disposing of the victim’s body at a dump site in Ilorin, violating the Kwara State Prohibition of Dealing in Human Parts Law.
The case will continue on March 4, 2025.
