Kwara Poly Increases Staff Salaries, Introduces Free Medical Screening

The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has announced a significant salary increase for all its staff members.

Dr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, the rector of the polytechnic, revealed this development in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He explained that the salary adjustment was implemented in response to the country’s challenging economic situation, aimed at alleviating its impact on the staff and boosting morale across the institution.

In addition to the salary increase, Dr. Muhammed highlighted the provision of free medical screening for all staff to ensure their health and wellbeing. He emphasized that these initiatives are part of the polytechnic’s broader effort to support the state government’s endeavors in improving the quality of life for its residents.

“As the nation faces economic challenges, it is essential for management to not only acknowledge the hard work of employees but also offer concrete support to help them cope,” the rector stated. “The salary increase, effective immediately, is expected to provide much-needed relief to staff dealing with the rising costs of living and inflation.”

On the new medical screening initiative, Dr. Muhammed explained that it aims to encourage early detection and prevention of health problems, ensuring that staff receive the medical attention they need promptly.
