Aiyedatiwa Swears in New Cabinet, Urges Members to Deliver on Promises
On Thursday, Ondo State Governor Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa officially inaugurated the members of his cabinet, reiterating his administration’s commitment to swift and effective governance.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that his team is eager to fulfill the promises made to the people during the election campaign. He made this statement during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed and reappointed members of the State Executive Council.
The Governor urged the appointees to quickly assume their new responsibilities and produce tangible results. Among those sworn in were the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, SAN; Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowumi Isaac; Special Adviser on Power, Engr. Johnson Alabi; Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye; and Comrade Bola Taiwo, appointed as Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties. Additionally, Prof. Simidele Odimayo was appointed Special Adviser on Health, while Engr. Abiola Olawoye was named Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that his administration is focused on rapid execution and precision in governance. He urged the newly appointed officials to align with his Seven-Point Development Agenda, themed “OUR EASE,” which aims to drive the state’s growth and development.
The Governor also encouraged the appointees to foster teamwork, urging them to work closely with career officers, Permanent Secretaries, and Accounting Officers within the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). He stressed that the success of the administration relies on a unified government with a common goal.
To ensure efficiency and accountability, the Governor announced that performance measurement techniques would be introduced. He made it clear that his administration would not tolerate corruption, laziness, or disloyalty.
“We expect nothing less than excellent performance from all appointees. This is the primary reason the people of Ondo State elected us into office,” the Governor said.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also acknowledged the swift confirmation and diligent screening of the commissioners by the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, and other lawmakers. He praised their cooperation, noting it reflects their commitment to the state’s progress.
In response, Dr. Fasoranti, on behalf of the appointees, expressed appreciation for the trust placed in them by the Governor. He assured the public that they would work tirelessly to bring the administration’s vision to life and deliver meaningful governance to the people of Ondo State.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip; Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola (represented by Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye); the Olu of Ilu Abo, Oba Oluyemi Falae; the Grand Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede; the Chairman of SUBEB, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan; and the Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Mr. Gbenga Fasua, among other government officials.
