Fire Destroys Sokoto Kara Market Again

Sokoto State’s well-known Kara Market, famous for selling grains and other food items, was once again devastated by a fire outbreak.

The fire, which began in the early hours of Saturday, quickly engulfed the entire market, leaving numerous grain stores and shops completely destroyed.

While the exact cause of the fire is still unknown, efforts by the state fire service to contain the blaze were unsuccessful. As of the time this report was filed, shop owners and residents near the market were seen hurriedly evacuating their belongings, fearing that the fire could reignite.

Attempts to reach the market’s management were unsuccessful, as they were preoccupied with preventing looting amidst the chaos.

It is worth noting that this incident follows a recent fire that completely destroyed the grinding section of the market, prompting the state government to pledge support to the victims of the earlier blaze.
