Federal Government Approves 11 New Private Universities
The Federal Government has granted provisional licenses to eleven new private universities, marking a significant expansion of Nigeria’s higher education sector.
Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, made the announcement following a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Monday.
The newly approved universities include New City University in Ayetoro, Ogun State; University of Fortune in Igbotako, Ondo State; Eranova University in Mabushi, FCT; and Minaret University in Ikirun, Osun State.
Other newly licensed institutions are Abubakar Toyin University in Oke-Agba, Kwara State; Southern Atlantic University in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State; Lens University in Ilemona, Kwara State; and Monarch University in Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State.
Additionally, Tonnie Iredia University of Communication in Benin City, Edo State; Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management in Lagos State; and Kevin Eze University in Mgbowo, Enugu State, have also received approval.
