Lagos Speaker Meranda Presides Over Plenary Following Meeting with Obasa

On Monday afternoon, Mojisola Meranda, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, presided over the plenary session following a meeting with the ousted Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

LEADERSHIP reports that earlier in the day, Meranda and Obasa met with other members of the House, APC leaders, and the state’s Attorney General.

The plenary session proceeded without incident, as security personnel were stationed around the Assembly complex to prevent any potential disturbances.

LEADERSHIP also recalls that Obasa’s return to the Assembly complex on February 27 sparked controversy, as he presided over a session with only four lawmakers present. During that session, Obasa insisted that he remained the Speaker of the House, claiming that his removal was illegal.
