JUST-IN: Armed Robbers Kill Ex-Immigration CG Parradang In Abuja

David Shikfu Parradang, a former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has tragically been killed by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in Abuja.

According to a security source, Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred in the Area 1 axis of the Federal Capital Territory in the early hours of Tuesday. Parradang was reportedly abducted after withdrawing money from a bank. The armed robbers trailed him, stole the cash he had withdrawn, and eventually took his life.

This tragic incident has raised fresh concerns over security in Abuja, particularly with the rising incidents of kidnappings and targeted attacks in the city. Parradang, who dedicated over 30 years of service to the NIS, held various positions across the country, ultimately rising to the position of Comptroller General. He served in states such as Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and attended several professional courses both in Nigeria and internationally.

In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the national honor of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and was a distinguished graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Security agencies have already initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his abduction and killing, with efforts underway to apprehend the assailants. However, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, has yet to comment on the incident.

The killing of Parradang has sent shockwaves through the nation, drawing attention to the growing security concerns in the capital city.
