JUST-IN: ‘He Died In Hotel Room’, Police Refute Kidnap Report About Ex-Immigration CG Parradang
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted media reports alleging that former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), David Parradang, was kidnapped and subsequently killed by armed robbers. The police clarified that Parradang died in his hotel room in Abuja after receiving a female guest.
In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, urged the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, particularly regarding kidnapping claims that could incite unnecessary panic.
According to the police, on March 3, 2025, at around 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel in Area 3 Junction, Abuja, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked into the hotel, paying N22,000 for one night. Shortly after, he directed the hotel attendant to escort a female guest to his room. The guest left the premises around 4:00 PM the same day.
After the lady’s departure, Parradang did not leave his room. Concerned for his welfare, a friend, who is a military officer, visited the hotel at approximately 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025. The officer, accompanied by the hotel receptionist, entered Parradang’s room and found him deceased, seated in a chair.
The police were notified, and officers from Durumi Police Station arrived promptly at the scene. They secured the area, took photographs, and collected evidence to preserve the crime scene. The body was transferred to the National Hospital for further examination. The hotel staff is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
The police also revealed that efforts are underway to locate and arrest the female guest who visited Parradang prior to his death.
SP Adeh urged the public and media outlets to avoid spreading unverified information, particularly claims of kidnapping, and assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the exact circumstances of Parradang’s death. She emphasized the FCT Police Command’s commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice.
