Burna Boy Joins Dangote for Iftar Days After Meeting Otedola
Grammy-winning artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, shared an Iftar meal with billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote at the latter’s residence on Tuesday, marking another high-profile meeting for the artist. The gathering, a traditional fast-breaking event during Ramadan, also included music executive Cecil Hammond.
A viral video from the event captured Burna Boy, dressed in a stylish navy blue two-piece outfit and a durag, exchanging pleasantries with Dangote and other distinguished guests around the dinner table.
Hammond, who played a key role in facilitating the meeting, later shared a photo on Instagram with the caption: “Bringing the legends together, one smile at a time.”
This event followed another notable engagement last week when Femi Otedola, another billionaire businessman, hosted Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Cecil Hammond at his residence. Otedola expressed his admiration for the influence of Nigeria’s music stars in a social media post, saying, “A true privilege to host some of our biggest music icons.”
Burna Boy, who first rose to fame with his 2013 hit ‘Like to Party’, has since become one of the most influential musicians in the world. His Grammy Award for ‘Best World Music Album’ in 2021 for Twice As Tall further solidified his global presence.
Cecil Hammond, who accompanied Burna Boy to both the Dangote and Otedola meetings, is a prominent music executive and talent manager, well-known for founding Flytime Promotions, which organizes some of Nigeria’s biggest music festivals and concerts.
Burna Boy’s increasing presence within Nigeria’s elite circles further underscores his growing influence not only in music but in the wider entertainment and business sectors.
