Nigerian journalist Livinus Chibuike Victor is preparing for an extraordinary challenge as he attempts to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the Longest Interviewing Marathon.
Victor aims to achieve 72 hours and 30 seconds of continuous interviews, with the record-breaking event set to take place from April 17 to April 20, 2026, at the Harrow Park Golf Club in Abuja.
The journalist’s pursuit of the record is more than just an endurance test—it is a demonstration of his unrelenting determination. Victor shared his motivation for the challenge, stating, “This challenge is about pushing beyond limits, proving that perseverance and purpose can break barriers. Journalism is more than a profession to me—it’s a mission. This attempt is about demonstrating the power of resilience, the strength of the human mind, and the importance of meaningful conversations.”
Preparing for this monumental feat has required intense mental and physical training. Victor has undergone months of rigorous preparation, including endurance training, meditation, and meticulous planning of interviews. He noted, “It’s about conditioning the body and mind to keep going even when fatigue sets in,” underscoring the discipline required to stay focused and engaged for an entire three-day marathon.
Victor’s attempt not only symbolizes personal strength but also highlights the power of journalism as a platform for change, advocacy, and profound dialogue. His record-breaking effort is set to be an inspiring testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
