Police Nab Man With Human Skulls, Firearms in Ebonyi
The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested Ovuta Chigozie, a resident of Okoffia community in Ezza South local government area, on charges of possessing human skulls and firearms.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Joshua Ukandu, the suspect was found with two human skulls and three locally made firearms. During his interrogation, Chigozie allegedly confessed that the skulls were given to him for the preparation of a spiritual concoction. Authorities are continuing to pursue other individuals linked to the case.
In a separate operation, the police uncovered a criminal syndicate involved in altering the colors of stolen tricycles. The operation, which was part of an investigation into a stolen tricycle, led to the arrest of Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba. The suspects reportedly confessed to receiving stolen tricycles from accomplices to modify their colors. Three stolen tricycles were recovered from the group.
The PPRO confirmed that all suspects would be charged to court once investigations are completed.
He also assured the public of the police’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Ebonyi State and urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activities.
