Kaduna Gov’t To Sponsor 175,752 Candidates For Exams

The Kaduna State Government has announced plans to sponsor 175,752 candidates, including orphans, for various examinations in 2025. This was revealed by the Director-General of the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority (KSSQA), Prof. Usman Abubakar Zaria.

The sponsorship follows the governor’s previous effort, with 136,742 candidates already sponsored in 2024 to sit for various exams. The initiative is part of Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to improving education and human capital development in the state.

Prof. Zaria shared this update during a quarterly press briefing at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna. He highlighted that Governor Sani is dedicated to ensuring quality education for all students and pupils in the state, emphasizing this as a key part of his administration’s strategy for development.

Additionally, Zaria disclosed that the Kaduna State Government has partnered with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to establish the first Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre in the northern region of the country.

He also commended Governor Sani’s leadership for the state’s recent election to four strategic WAEC committees, including the Administrative and Finance, Examinations, Tenders Board, and Appointments committees.

Zaria further revealed that his agency has mapped out a total of 3,622 private schools across the state, surpassing the previous estimate of 1,800. He issued a warning to unregistered private schools to immediately register with KSSQA or face enforcement actions.
