We Will Expand Access To Quality Basic Education, Says UBEC Boss

The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Aisha Garba, has reaffirmed her commitment to improving access to quality basic education and addressing the challenge of out-of-school children.

Garba made this statement during a stakeholder meeting in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, where she met with the state’s governor, Abdullahi Sule; the Commissioner for Education, Dr. John Mamman; and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) executive chairman, Musa Muhammad Danazumi.

In her remarks, Mrs. Garba emphasized her dedication to fulfilling the objectives outlined in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the areas of school construction, renovations, and teacher development.

“I met with the education stakeholders to reinforce my efforts in expanding quality education and addressing the challenge of out-of-school children,” she said. “I’m happy that the governor has a strong interest in the educational sector, especially in basic education, through school construction, renovations, teacher training, and other key interventions.”

She expressed optimism that the collaborative efforts between UBEC and state authorities would significantly contribute to improving the quality of basic education in the region, benefiting students and strengthening the overall educational framework in the country.
