2027: Umahi Urges Muslims To Support Tinubu’s Re-election
Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has urged Muslims across the country to continue their prayers and show unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Umahi emphasized that significant progress was already being made under President Tinubu’s administration and assured that the President’s good intentions for Nigeria would soon be evident, instilling confidence among Nigerians.
The minister made this appeal during a Ramadan fast-breaking event at his Abakaliki residence on Sunday evening, where he gathered with Muslim faithful in the state. He stressed that under President Tinubu’s leadership, things were beginning to turn around for the better, with divine intervention guiding the administration.
“In your prayers, please pray for the President, for his success, and for all the great work he is doing because he came in the name of God, and God has shown Himself so mighty and strong for our President,” Umahi said. “We pray that God will guide him in good health, and every good thing he envisions for this nation will come to pass. As we prepare to complete our first tenure, we pray for his re-election so that he can complete the good work he has started.”
Umahi expressed optimism about the nation’s future, saying, “Things are turning around, and God is showing Himself strong in our administration. The worst is over, and God is helping us mightily and marvelously.”
The former Governor of Ebonyi State also urged the Muslim community to pray for the state’s Governor, Francis Nwifuru, highlighting the Governor’s inclusive administration, which has unified the state under one political party—APC.
“The Governor of Ebonyi State has brought peace; there’s no more opposition in the state. Only APC is in Ebonyi State. He has brought everyone on board, and he’s doing his best to develop the state,” Umahi said. “Pray for him, that God will guide him, that he will complete his four-year tenure, and secure a second term victory. May God lift Ebonyi State and make us number one in the country in peace, prosperity, wealth, and good governance.”
In response, the Leader of the Muslim Community in Ebonyi State, Alhaji Danjuma Gambo, and the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Scamb Nwokolo, commended Umahi for his inclusive approach towards all religious groups in the state. They pledged their continued prayers and support for both President Tinubu and Governor Nwifuru, acknowledging the significance of breaking the Ramadan fast with the Muslim community.
