Gas Explosion Claims Life of Teenager, Injures 21 Others in Kano
A tragic gas explosion in Kano has resulted in the death of a 14-year-old boy and left 21 others injured. The explosion occurred at the residence of one Malam Isiyaka Rabiu in Goron Dutse Quarters around 2:30 p.m., triggered by a gas cylinder blast in the kitchen.
A statement from the Kano State Police Command revealed that the explosion caused a fire that spread through parts of the house before emergency responders were able to bring it under control.
A police team, led by ACP Nuhu Mohammed Digi of the Dala Area Command, arrived at the scene promptly, joined by firefighters. The injured victims were rushed to Gamji Hospital, Dala Orthopaedic Hospital, and Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital for immediate medical care.
Authorities have since restored peace in the area. The Police have offered their condolences to the family of the deceased and praised the quick response of emergency services.
