Police Recover 19 Stolen Vehicles In Abuja

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have successfully recovered 19 stolen vehicles within the Federal Capital Territory, as part of their ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft.

Investigations revealed that these recoveries took place between January and February 2025. The vehicles were stolen from different locations across the FCT and later recovered in other areas such as Jos, Niger, and Kaduna.

FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the recovery, stating that the vehicles were recovered across various police divisions in the FCT. Specifically, one vehicle was recovered by the Maitama Division, three by the Mpape Division, one by the Bwari Division, and two by the Central Police Station. Other divisions such as Trademore, Mabushi, Anti-Car Theft Unit, Utako, Gwarimpa, Durumi, and Kubwa also had recoveries of one or two vehicles.

The FCT Police Commissioner, CP Olatunji Disu, praised the recovery efforts and assured residents that the FCT Police Command remains dedicated to ensuring their safety and the protection of their property. He urged vehicle owners to adopt proactive measures to secure their vehicles, including the installation of tracking devices and other security features such as steering wheel locks, pedal locks, alarm systems, and immobilisers.

The police also advised the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to ensure a safer environment for all residents.
