Zamfara Government Partners Chinese Firms on Security, Agriculture, Transport, and Mining

The Zamfara State government has formed a strategic partnership with Chinese companies to enhance the state’s security, agriculture, transportation, and mining sectors through advanced technologies.

On Tuesday, Governor Dauda Lawal welcomed a Chinese delegation to the Government House in Gusau, the state capital, for discussions aimed at driving economic growth through bilateral collaborations.

According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal had previously led a state government delegation to China from February 15 to 21, 2025, to explore potential collaborations in key sectors. During this visit, the delegation engaged with several Chinese firms, including Zhong Zhao International Group, Phoenix Wings, Shenzhen HighGreat Innovation Technology Development Co. Ltd, and Xiamen Magnetic North Technology Co. Ltd.

 

 

The statement added that as a follow-up to the discussions in China, Mr. Tang Zhangwei, along with representatives from several Chinese companies, visited Zamfara to strengthen the partnership and accelerate developments in critical sectors.

Governor Lawal expressed his appreciation for the Chinese firms’ commitment to the partnership, saying, “I want to welcome you to Zamfara State. You are truly welcome. In February, I led a delegation to China to meet with companies in various sectors and explore their offerings. It was a very intensive trip.”

Governor Lawal highlighted the following collaborations established during the visit:

  • Zhong Zhao International Group: This partnership focuses on organic fertilizer production and mechanized farming. The group will train local farmers in organic farming practices, introduce advanced machinery, and transfer technology to set up organic fertilizer plants in Zamfara.
  • Phoenix Wings: The firm specializes in security surveillance technology, including drones. Together, they will develop strategies to combat banditry, kidnapping, and other security challenges in the state.
  • Shenzhen HighGreat Innovation Technology Development Co. Ltd: This company will contribute to innovations in robotics, drone technology, and other technological solutions.
  • Xiamen Magnetic North Technology Co. Ltd. and Xiamen King Long United Automobile Industry Co. Ltd: These companies will help develop modern transport hubs and introduce mass transit systems to improve mobility within and outside the state.
  • WEICAI LOVOL International Trading Company: This partnership focuses on smart agriculture, integrated management platforms, and the provision of tractors for improved farming productivity.
  • Tibet Ming Company: The state discussed increased investment in the mining sector, with an emphasis on sustainable practices, social responsibility, and modern technologies to enhance mineral exploration in Zamfara.

Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Mallam Abubakar Nakwada, who was also part of the delegation to China, praised the success of the visit, saying, “We had a very productive working visit to China, and the outcomes are evident today with the arrival of a high-level group of companies in Zamfara State.”
