Niger Governor Reintroduces Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise

 

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced the reintroduction of the state’s monthly sanitation exercise, following the approval of the State’s Environmental Sanitation and Waste Control Regulations Law 2025.

In a statement made on Saturday in Minna, Governor Bago explained that the new regulations would apply to environmental sanitation matters and all categories of waste control within the state, complementing existing laws.

The Governor declared that the last Saturday of each month will now be observed as Environmental Sanitation Day, in accordance with the powers granted under Section 5(1)(2) of the Niger State Environmental Protection Agency Law, 2022, as amended.
