Group Commends Okpebholo’s Appointment of DG for Edo Diaspora Agency
The Spirit of Edo Foundation, a non-profit organization, has praised Governor Monday Okpebholo’s appointment of Dr. Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor as the new Director-General of the Edo State Diaspora Agency (ESDA).
In a statement led by the foundation’s Founder, Comrade Harrison Ogiemwanre, the group described Dr. Ogboro-Okor as an ideal choice for the position, calling her a “distinguished professional, a visionary leader, and a true daughter of Edo State.” They highlighted her unwavering commitment to excellence and humanitarian service, which has been clearly reflected in her many contributions to society.
Ogiemwanre further emphasized Dr. Ogboro-Okor’s impressive qualifications, noting that she is a United Kingdom-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, a Medical Simulator Expert, a prolific writer, and an internationally recognized goodwill ambassador. He also acknowledged her leadership roles, including her work as the leader of the Edo Diaspora Working Group and the Edo State Focus Group Worldwide, as well as her involvement in the Steering Committee for the establishment of ESDA.
“Her pioneering efforts in Diaspora engagement have clearly shown her dedication to the progress of Edo people worldwide. It is, therefore, no surprise that she has been entrusted with this important responsibility,” the statement read.
The foundation expressed full confidence in Dr. Ogboro-Okor’s ability to succeed in her new role, asserting that her wealth of experience, strong leadership skills, and deep-rooted passion for Edo people would lead to impactful policies and initiatives. These efforts, they believe, will strengthen the relationship between Edo indigenes at home and abroad.
In closing, the Spirit of Edo Foundation offered their unwavering support to the new Director-General, wishing her a successful tenure.
“Once again, congratulations, Dr. Ogboro-Okor. May your tenure be marked by remarkable achievements for our beloved Edo State,” the statement concluded.
