AMF Honors Jigawa Governor Namadi for Exceptional Leadership
The Abdullahi Mahmood Foundation (AMF) has honored Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State with an Award of Excellence for Outstanding Leadership and Performance, in recognition of his significant contributions to the growth and development of the state.
The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the AMF to the Jigawa Government House in Dutse on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The visit, led by AMF Chairman and Founder Abdullahi Mahmood, aimed to introduce the foundation’s activities and explore potential collaborations with the state government.
Governor Namadi, alongside his Chief of Staff, Personal Secretary, commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants, and other dignitaries, attended the event.
During the presentation, Mahmood highlighted the foundation’s initiatives between 2023 and 2025, focusing on community development, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. AMF’s impact includes organizing two football tournaments to promote unity among youth, sponsoring surgeries and medical treatments for the less privileged, hosting Qur’anic Recitation Competitions and a Children’s Day event in 2024, donating hundreds of boxes of chalk to schools, supporting a school feeding program, conducting a drug abuse awareness campaign in 35 secondary schools, renovating and building mosques, repairing boreholes, and running a Ramadan feeding program, among other projects.
Additionally, AMF has provided cash empowerment programs for women and youth to support small businesses.
In his address, Abdullahi Mahmood congratulated Governor Namadi for the successful implementation of the state’s 12-point agenda, which he noted has significantly improved the welfare of Jigawa’s citizens. He praised the administration for putting Jigawa on both the national and global map through its development efforts.
While presenting the Award of Excellence, Mahmood commended Namadi for his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the state’s progress.
Governor Namadi expressed his gratitude to AMF for its humanitarian efforts and support for his administration’s vision. He also congratulated the foundation on its achievements in the state and acknowledged its vital role in improving the lives of the less privileged.
“I congratulate the Abdullahi Mahmood Foundation for the remarkable accomplishments it has recorded in the past two years of humanitarian service in the state,” Namadi said. “We will continue to work hard to improve the lives of our people and fulfill our campaign promises for a greater Jigawa State.”
The Governor also thanked AMF for the award, noting that it was a recognition of his administration’s dedication to good governance.
The visit and award presentation underscored the importance of collaboration between government and non-governmental organizations in driving sustainable development. With AMF’s continued interventions in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, the partnership with the Jigawa State government is expected to strengthen grassroots development efforts.
