JUST-IN: Lagos Court Orders Oba Otudeko To Appear for Alleged ₦30bn Fraud Trial
The Federal High Court in Lagos has directed prominent businessman Oba Otudeko to appear before it and take his plea in the ongoing ₦30 billion fraud trial filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The presiding judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, ruled on Monday that Otudeko must be arraigned before any application challenging the court’s jurisdiction can be considered.
LEADERSHIP reports that the EFCC had previously filed a 13-count charge against Otudeko and three other individuals over an alleged fraudulent loan transaction.
However, during the hearing, the judge emphasized that the defendant must first enter a plea before any jurisdictional objections could be addressed.
Following this ruling, the court adjourned the case to May 8 for further proceedings.
