OSGF Denies Involvement in Bribery Allegations, Calls for Fair Investigation
The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has firmly distanced itself from the corruption allegations currently surrounding Hon. Andrew Torhile Uchi, the Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF). Uchi is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged bribery and money laundering activities.
In a statement issued on Monday, Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information for OSGF, emphasized that the leadership of the office had no involvement in the alleged misconduct for which Uchi is being investigated. The OSGF reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity in all official matters.
“The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation is not in any way connected to the allegations against Hon. Andrew Torhile Uchi. We remain committed to upholding the principles of good governance and ethical conduct,” the statement read.
The OSGF also expressed support for the EFCC’s efforts to investigate the matter thoroughly, assuring the public that those found guilty would face justice. The office urged citizens to refrain from speculating and to allow the investigation to proceed without interference.
“We recognize and support the EFCC’s role in maintaining the rule of law. We appeal to the public to avoid drawing premature conclusions as the investigation is ongoing,” the statement added.
Finally, the OSGF thanked the public for its understanding and support, reaffirming its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in government operations.
