Troops Kill 10 Terrorists, Rescue 101 Kidnap Victims in Katsina and Zamfara
Troops of Sector 2, in collaboration with the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully killed 10 terrorists and rescued 101 kidnap victims in Katsina and Zamfara States.
The joint operations, carried out between March 17 and 18, led to the neutralization of 10 terrorists, including seven in the Faru District of Maradun Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara.
In a statement, Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi Akwa, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, disclosed that the troops launched an assault on a terrorist hideout at Pauwa High Ground in Kankara LGA, Katsina. This operation resulted in the killing of three terrorists and the rescue of 84 kidnapped victims, who were handed over to local authorities.
In Zamfara, troops acted on intelligence regarding terrorist activities in Bagabuzu, Faru District, leading to the elimination of seven terrorists and the recovery of a motorcycle. Seventeen additional captives were rescued from Tsibiri and Doka villages in Shinkafi LGA and are currently receiving medical care.
Operation Fansan Yamma has urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security efforts in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the region.
