Gunmen Kidnap FRSC Officer In Benue
The Benue State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the abduction of one of its personnel, Inspector Nathaniel Kumashe.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Ahula, made the confirmation on Thursday in Makurdi, the state capital.
Ahula stated that the officer, who is currently serving in Wannue in Tarka Local Government Area of the state, was kidnapped around 10 pm on Wednesday.
She explained that Inspector Kumashe was abducted at his country home in Tse Aboh, Uchi-Mbakor, shortly after returning from his late cousin’s wake keep.
“The armed men fired gunshots to scare his family members and neighbors before taking him away,” Ahula said.
It is believed that the victim has been moved to a hideout in a neighboring local government area within the state, though the exact location remains unknown.
The abduction has raised concerns in the community, and authorities are working to secure the release of the officer.
