Female Soldier, 2 Others Kidnapped by Gunmen in Abuja
Demand N100m Ransom
A female officer of the Nigerian Navy, attached to the Defence Headquarters (name withheld), has been abducted along with two other individuals by gunmen in Abuja.
A military source revealed to LEADERSHIP that the victims were seized from their residence in the Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory on Friday night.
According to the anonymous source, the kidnappers have already contacted the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release.
“Three individuals, including a DHQ official, Lt… were abducted on Friday night in the Mpape area. The kidnappers have reached out to their families and are insisting on a N100 million ransom,” the source stated.
Efforts to reach the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, and the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, for comments were unsuccessful as they did not respond to messages sent at the time of filing this report.
The abductions have raised further concerns about the worsening security situation in Nigeria’s capital, where cases of kidnappings and violent crimes continue to escalate.
