Bandits Kill 10 Security Guards in Zamfara

Armed bandits ambushed and killed 10 security personnel in Zamfara State, including six members of the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards (CPG) and four members of the vigilante group known as ‘Yan Sakai’. The attack occurred near Bagega Forest in the Anka Local Government Area.

LEADERSHIP reports that the ambush took place on Saturday night while a joint military task force was conducting an operation targeting terrorist hideouts in Sukai Forest within the same area.

In addition to the fatalities, three security personnel—two members of the Community Protection Guards and one local vigilante—remain missing, while several others sustained injuries of varying degrees.

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, confirmed the tragic incident on his Facebook page. He also reported that the operation had led to the death of many terrorists and the recovery of a significant amount of weapons from the bandits’ hideout.

In response to the attack, Governor Lawal has ordered the deployment of additional troops to the affected region. He also instructed that emergency relief efforts be provided to the injured and the families of the victims.
