Katsina Gov Abruptly Ends Lesser Hajj, Returns To Nigeria Over Mother’s Demise
Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has cut short his trip to Saudi Arabia for the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) following the death of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umar Radda.
The governor arrived back in Nigeria on Monday, landing at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano, accompanied by his wife, Hajiya Zulaihat, and Hon. Abdulahi Aliyu, the member representing Musawa/Matazu federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
From Kano, Governor Radda traveled to his village, Radda, in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State, where he joined his family to receive sympathizers who came to offer condolences. He was received by his deputy, Faruk Lawal Jobe, at precisely 2:40 PM on Monday.
Governor Radda was in Saudi Arabia when he received the tragic news of his mother’s passing in the early hours of Sunday. Before leaving the Holy Land, the governor received condolences from various dignitaries, including fellow state governors and members of the National and State Assemblies, who were also in Saudi Arabia for the Lesser Hajj.
