Police Arrest 2 For Allegedly Killing Okada Rider In Bauchi
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the killing of Dauda Manu, a 25-year-old motorcyclist, popularly known as an Okada rider, from Unguwar Buba, Fulata Lanzai, in Darazo Local Government Area.
Manu’s lifeless body was discovered on March 5, 2025, along Dosho Village, near Darazo, with multiple injuries. The victim was last seen on March 4, 2025, riding his Boxer brand motorcycle with two unidentified passengers.
According to a statement released on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the police responded to the incident by sending a team of detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, to the scene. The body was evacuated and taken to the General Hospital in Darazo, where a medical doctor confirmed the victim’s death.
The investigation led to a breakthrough on March 20, 2025, when police arrested 25-year-old Yau Buba from Minchika Village in Darazo LGA, Gombe State, after discovering the victim’s stolen motorcycle in his possession. During questioning, Buba confessed to purchasing the motorcycle from Buba Muhammadu, a 22-year-old from the same village, for ₦250,000.
Muhammadu was subsequently arrested on March 21, 2025.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. Upon conclusion, the suspects will face charges in court.
