Police Arrest Suspect Over Alleged Murder of PoS Operator in Adamawa

Police in Adamawa State have apprehended one Umar Snu in connection with the brutal murder of Abbas Yuguda, a 35-year-old Point of Sale (PoS) operator. The incident occurred in the Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, the tragic event took place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, when Yuguda was attacked while returning home after closing his business. A group of armed assailants reportedly attacked him, inflicting severe head injuries that left him bleeding on the ground.

The Mayo-Belwa Divisional Police operatives responded quickly to the scene and rushed the victim to the Cottage Hospital in Mayo-Belwa in an attempt to save his life. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

An angry mob quickly pursued Snu, overpowering him before police officers arrived at the scene and took him into custody. Snu was also transported to the hospital for medical treatment and is currently assisting police with their investigation.

Adamawa State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, condemned the violent act and has called for a thorough investigation to ensure the perpetrators face justice. He also cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands, urging them to allow the legal system to function appropriately.

The police further appealed to the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest station.
