Police Launch Manhunt for Man Who Allegedly Killed Pregnant Fiancée and Daughter in Edo
The Edo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for Wealth Nnamdi, who is suspected of killing his pregnant fiancée, Osasu Isaac, and her 3-year-old daughter, Miracle, in Benin City.
The tragic incident occurred on March 16 at Idiangbona Street in Ovbiogoe Community following a heated argument between the couple. Neighbors, who were accustomed to the frequent quarrels between the two, did not anticipate that this altercation would lead to bloodshed.
A source in the community, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the couple had been together for over three years, with Nnamdi moving in with Osasu and her daughter from a previous relationship. A traditional wedding had been planned for March 29, 2025, and their church wedding was set for April 6, 2025, before the tragic incident.
“It is heartbreaking because she was excited about the wedding. She was pregnant with his child, and they had been living together. But on Sunday, they had a serious argument. We didn’t think much of it because they usually fought,” the source said.
The source continued, “When the argument stopped, we thought they had settled. But after two days, a foul smell started coming from their room, which is when we alerted the police.”
Police confirmed the incident on Tuesday. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Edo State Command, Moses Yamu, stated that officers from the Ekiadolor Division were called to the scene. Upon arriving, they forced open the door and discovered the victims’ bodies after neighbors reported a disturbing odor emanating from the residence.
The police are now actively searching for Wealth Nnamdi, who is believed to have fled the scene following the tragic event.
