Bandits Kill 3 Kidnap Victims After Ransom Payment in Kaduna
Three residents of Surubu Community in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been confirmed killed by their abductors despite the payment of ransom for their release. The victims—identified as Obadiah Dangana, Emmanuel Moses (known as Bobbling Guy), and Danjuma Sardauna—were abducted on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and their bodies were discovered in a forest during a military search operation on Monday, March 24, 2025.
The Surubu Community Development Association condemned the killings, expressing outrage over the tragic loss of its members. The association’s National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Caleb Magaji, described the incident as deeply disturbing, highlighting that the victims were kidnapped while going about their daily activities. He also noted that the community and surrounding areas in Kumana and Kauru Local Government continue to face recurring attacks, with many residents still in captivity even after paying large sums of ransom.
Magaji called on both the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to restore peace to the region and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice. He also emphasized the need for military checkpoints in key areas such as Kusheka, Kabene, and Geshere to enhance security and enable a faster response to future attacks.
While acknowledging the government’s efforts, including the establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kauru, Magaji stressed the need for stronger measures to address the frequent attacks in communities like Kumana. The association also appealed to all community members to stay vigilant and cooperate with security agencies in their efforts to restore normalcy.
Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, was contacted for a statement but had yet to respond at the time of reporting.
