EFCC Arrests Fresh 15 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Kwara
Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 15 more persons for their alleged involvement in internet fraud. The arrests took place in the Tanke Oke-Odo area of Ilorin, Kwara State, on Wednesday.
This comes less than a week after the EFCC arrested 22 suspected internet fraudsters in different parts of Ilorin, including Tanke, Alao Farm Estate, Yidi Road, and Irewolede areas.
According to a statement by the EFCC’s head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the arrests followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent internet activities. Items recovered from the suspects during the operation include eight luxury cars, smartphones, and high-end laptops.
The latest arrests bring the total number of suspected internet fraudsters apprehended in Ilorin to 37 within a week. The suspects will be charged in court once the investigations are concluded, according to the EFCC.
