Seyi Tinubu Not Taking VP’s Duties — Group
A group based in Atlanta, United States, The Future Platform, has strongly refuted claims circulating in Nigeria that Seyi Tinubu, the endorsed candidate for Lagos State’s 2027 governorship election, has taken on the responsibilities of Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The group, through its Director of Publicity, Afolabi Adeusi, clarified that Seyi Tinubu remains focused on his charitable work across Nigeria, targeting the country’s poor and needy. They emphasized that his humanitarian efforts should not be misinterpreted as him assuming any political role or responsibilities outside of his personal endeavors.
Speaking during a media engagement on Wednesday, Adeusi confirmed that the group’s originally planned ‘All-White Endorsement’ event, initially scheduled for March 4, 2025, has now been rescheduled to April 12, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The event aims to publicly support Seyi Tinubu’s candidacy for the Lagos State governorship.
“We want to make it very clear that the insinuation that Seyi Tinubu is trying to take over the Vice President’s responsibilities is completely false,” Adeusi stated. “Seyi Tinubu has always been committed to charity and has done so long before his father became President. His work is about uplifting the less privileged and should not be misunderstood.”
Adeusi continued to praise Seyi Tinubu’s leadership abilities, citing his dedication to humanitarian service and his capacity to unite people across ethnic and linguistic divides. As the political atmosphere in Nigeria heats up ahead of the 2027 elections, the group believes Seyi Tinubu’s vision and track record make him the ideal candidate to lead Lagos State.
“We have full confidence in Seyi Tinubu’s ability to lead Lagos to new heights through his community service, social development, and disaster relief efforts. He is a true game-changer for Lagos State,” Adeusi added.
