Security Guard, 2 Others Arrested For Alleged Theft Of Sewing Machines In Borno
The Borno State Police Command has arrested three individuals, including a security guard, for allegedly stealing 19 sewing machine heads from the Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition Centre in Maiduguri.
The suspects, identified as 34-year-old Kaka Modu Mustapha, the security guard, and two teenagers—16-year-old Bukar Mustapha and 17-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed—were arrested on March 22 for conspiring to steal the machines.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, six of the stolen sewing machine heads have been recovered, and efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining items.
The Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition Centre is a community initiative aimed at empowering youth and women through vocational training. The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be charged in court once the investigation is completed.
