Adeleke Eases Curfew in Osun’s Warring Communities
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has announced the immediate relaxation of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the warring communities of Ilobu, Ifon-Osun, and Erin-Osun, reducing it to 17 hours effective Friday, March 28, 2025.
A statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, revealed that the revised curfew will now run from 2 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day.
The governor’s decision was aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by residents of the affected towns and allowing them time to attend to their immediate needs.
While commending the cessation of hostilities, Governor Adeleke expressed dissatisfaction over reports of another killing, for which the police have made an arrest. He warned that anyone found responsible for instigating further violence would face the full legal consequences.
The governor further directed the joint security taskforce to maintain round-the-clock surveillance in the affected communities to ensure that any act of lawlessness is swiftly addressed.
Additionally, Governor Adeleke instructed the state’s emergency agency to step up support services for displaced individuals, in line with earlier directives.
