Kwankwaso Condemns Mob Attack on Travelers in Edo

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, has strongly condemned the brutal mob attack on 16 travelers in Edo State, calling it a “harrowing display of mob injustice.”

In a statement shared on his official X handle, Kwankwaso expressed deep concern over the tragic incident that occurred on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Udune Efandion community of Uromi, Edo State.

“I am deeply disturbed by the horrific act of mob justice against 16 travelers from Northern Nigeria in Edo State. This tragedy, which unfolded on March 28, 2025, is yet another grim reminder of the barbarity of jungle justice,” he wrote.

The former Governor of Kano State stressed that all Nigerian citizens should be free to travel across the country without fear of harassment or intimidation.

“It is well known that people from all regions of Nigeria should be able to travel without facing any form of harassment or intimidation,” he stated.

Kwankwaso called on the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

“I urge the appropriate authorities to initiate a full-scale investigation into this tragic event and ensure that those responsible face justice,” he added.

He also extended his condolences to the families of the victims, the Kano State Government, and other affected states, offering prayers for the souls of the deceased.
