Adekimi Ojo Assumes Duty as Kwara’s New Police Commissioner
A new Police Commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, has officially assumed duty at the Kwara State Police Command headquarters in Ilorin.
Ojo’s appointment as the 44th Commissioner of Police in Kwara follows the promotion of the previous Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
The Kwara State Police Command spokesperson, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the appointment, highlighting that Ojo is a seasoned law enforcement officer with over three decades of service in the Nigeria Police Force. Known for his expertise in crime prevention, intelligence-led policing, and strategic security management, Ojo is expected to bolster security efforts and strengthen community relations in the state.
According to Ejire-Adeyemi, Ojo has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative roles across Nigeria, showcasing a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and proactive policing. Prior to his new role, Ojo was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations at the Kwara State Command, where he played a critical role in security coordination and crime-fighting strategies.
In his new capacity, CP Ojo assured the people of Kwara State of his commitment to maintaining law and order, combating crime, and creating a safer environment. He called on residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the police by providing valuable information to aid in crime prevention.
