Breaking News: Suspended Senator Natasha Defies Kogi’s Public Gathering Ban, Arrives in Hometown by Chopper

Despite a ban on public gatherings in Kogi State, suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan made a defiant return to her hometown in Ihima, Okehi LGA on Tuesday afternoon, arriving via helicopter.

The embattled senator, who represents the Kogi Central senatorial district, landed around 1:00 PM to a warm reception from a large crowd of supporters who had gathered in anticipation of her arrival.

Supporters had started gathering at her private residence as early as 7:00 AM, eager to welcome the senator. However, the excitement surrounding her homecoming was met with opposition from local authorities.

Earlier that day, Okehi LGA Chairman, Hon. Amoka Eneji, imposed a curfew in the area in an attempt to prevent the public gathering, which was part of a planned Sallah celebration hosted by the senator. This action came on the heels of the Kogi State Government’s directive banning public gatherings across the state, citing concerns over maintaining peace and order.

At the time of reporting, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was addressing the enthusiastic crowd of supporters.
