Ex-President Buhari Mourns Galadima of Kano
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sadness over the death of the Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi, a prominent member of the Kano Emirate Council.
In his statement, the former president described the passing of the Galadima as a significant loss to both the Emirate and the nation, noting that he was a stabilizing figure in the rapidly changing society of Kano. Buhari highlighted that Alhaji Abbas Sunusi served as an effective link between the past and the present, embodying institutional memory and traditions essential to the governance and administration of the royal palace.
“The Galadima was the effective link between the past and the present; an embodiment of institutional memory and traditions who was key to the governance and the administration of the royal palace. Abbas Sunusi is irreplaceable. May his soul rest in peace,” Buhari said.
He also extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Kano Emirate Council, the Kano State government, and the people of the state.
