Kaduna Police Officer Sparks Controversy With Retaliatory Threats Against Southerners Over Uromi Killings

A police officer in Kaduna State, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, has stirred controversy by issuing a threat of retaliation against Southerners in the North in response to the recent lynching of 16 travelers from the North in Uromi, Edo State.

Dan-Taki’s comments followed the brutal killings of the 16 Northerners by an illegal vigilante group in the Uromi area of Esan North-East Local Government, Edo State.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Dan-Taki declared that action would be taken against Southerners living in the North, saying, “I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys, have you forgotten all your brothers that are leaving here in the North? Make my word, after one week you shall see the result.”

After facing significant backlash for his statement, Dan-Taki altered his Facebook profile, changing his first name and restricting access to his page to limit the visibility of his posts and comments.

However, the controversial post was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user, UcheDIgboezeson, who tagged the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, urging him to take action.

Adejobi promptly responded, acknowledging the post and stating, “Noted for necessary action. Thanks.”
