‘Make Peace With Natasha’, Dele Momodu Urges Akpabio
Veteran journalist and media mogul, Dele Momodu, has called for peace in the ongoing political dispute between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and suspended Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
In a social media post on Tuesday, Momodu urged Akpabio to end the feud, emphasizing that “it is not every battle you must fight and win.”
The tension between Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan escalated in March 2025 after the Kogi Central Senator accused the Senate President of sexual harassment. This followed earlier disagreements in the Senate chamber over seating arrangements. In response to the allegations, the Senate suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months on charges of indiscipline, a move that sparked national controversy.
Momodu, in his appeal, urged Akpabio to reconsider his stance, describing the ongoing conflict as a situation that could be resolved peacefully. He wrote, “AKPABIO, AKPABIO, AKPABIO… Please, make peace urgently… It is not every battle you must fight and win… For the past few weeks, I have voluntarily been seeking peace because ‘BLESSED are the peacemakers’.”
Furthermore, he warned Akpabio against underestimating Akpoti-Uduaghan, referring to her as “a tough coconut you shouldn’t use your head to crack.” He urged the Senate President to use his influence to seek peace rather than escalate the feud.
“Do not underrate this lady… Use your enormous power to seek peace… SENATOR NATASHA is obviously a tough coconut you shouldn’t use your head to crack…” Momodu concluded, sending his “love to you and yours.”
The Senate suspended Akpoti-Uduaghan on March 6 for “gross misconduct” after she failed to appear before the Senate Ethics and Privileges Committee to respond to allegations of misconduct. The suspension followed an uproar in the Senate chamber over seating arrangements, with Akpoti-Uduaghan claiming that she was not informed of the changes. She also alleged that Akpabio had sexually harassed her.
Since her suspension, Akpoti-Uduaghan has made several startling revelations, keeping the political controversy at the forefront of public discourse.
