Atiku Mourns Bauchi Islamic Scholar Idris Abdul’aziz
Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep condolences following the death of Sheikh Idris Abdul’aziz Dutsen Tanshi, a renowned Islamic scholar.
Sheikh Idris passed away on Thursday in Bauchi after a prolonged illness. In a statement shared on his verified Facebook page on Friday, Atiku praised the late scholar’s profound knowledge, wisdom, and commitment to peace.
Atiku described Sheikh Idris as a staunch advocate for peace, whose final words emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence among Muslims. He lauded the late scholar for his moral leadership and the positive impact he had on his community, noting that his legacy will continue to inspire many.
“This is a tremendous loss not only to his family and community but to all of humanity,” Atiku wrote in his tribute. “His unwavering commitment to the faith and his contributions to the betterment of society will forever be remembered.”
Atiku also offered prayers for Sheikh Idris, asking Allah (SWT) to grant him eternal rest and a place among the righteous in Jannah. He also extended his condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
