Oyo PDP Chieftain Yekinni Adeojo Is Dead
A former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Yekinni Adeojo, has passed away.
Sources confirmed that the prominent businessman and politician, who hailed from Ibadan, Oyo State, died in the early hours of Friday. Adeojo was a key figure in the political scene in Oyo State and a founding member of the PDP in the region.
Adeojo, also known as the Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland, contested the 1999 Oyo State governorship election under the PDP, but he lost to the late Alhaji Lamidi Adesina of the Alliance of Democracy (AD).
The late politician was the father of Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, the current Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government.
Funeral arrangements indicate that Adeojo will be buried in Ibadan on Friday, in accordance with Islamic rites. His death marks the end of a significant chapter in the political and business landscape of Oyo State.
