APC Chieftains Feel Abandoned Under Tinubu’s Gov’t — Ndume
The Senator representing Borno South District, Ali Ndume has voiced concerns over growing discontent within the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claiming that many chieftains of the party feel sidelined under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Ndume stated this while speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on Friday.
The lawmaker expressed frustration over what he called lack of access and engagement with the presidency by key party figures.
“Almost two years into the government, many people feel they have been abandoned. Like El-Rufai, he gave the excuse that the APC left him behind, and so many others too,” Ndume said referencing the immediate-past Kaduna State governor who recently left the part for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Ndume further lamented what he described as the administration’s reluctance to address concerns raised by party loyalists.
“Many people don’t have access to the government. I said it some time ago, but he didn’t do something about it. Instead, they come back on the pages of newspapers and start abusing the messenger instead of addressing the message,” he said.
Recall that Senator Ndume in an interview on Arise News TV on Monday accused the president of lopsidedness in his appointments.
The senator’s remarks came amid ongoing debates about inclusiveness, party unity, and the direction of governance under the Tinubu-led administration.
