Bandits Kill 2, Kidnap 1 Other In Kano Community
Armed men on Thursday night attacked the Faruruwa community in Shanono local government area of Kano State, killing two resident, kidnapping one other, and injuring two other persons.
The incident occurred around 8p.m. on Thursday when suspected kidnappers stormed the community market and started opening fire on residents.
Authorities at the local government confirmed that the two injured were receiving treatment at a hospital.
Chairman of Shanono local government area of Kano State, Hon. Abubakar Barau disclosed this through a statement on Friday.
Barau condemned the attack and expressed concern over the growing insecurity in border communities, particularly those close to Katsina State.
“Our administration is doing everything possible to restore security in the area in order to protect lives and property,” the chairman said.
He further stated that security personnel have already commenced investigations into the incident and assured that the council will provide full cooperation throughout the process.
Barau called on residents of Faruruwa to remain calm and work closely with security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.
He also extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
